Andy Boubel

Andy started his musical career in Chicago forming the band Skyline with fellow writer Marc Pulido in 1982. The band blossomed into one of the premier local Rock groups winning several competitions. Their music received radio play on FM 98 "The Loop" and WVVX. They also showcased their original material regularly at the Park West and Cabaret Metro. In 1986 the band had the good fortune to work with Tom Washington - famed horn producer of Earth Wind and Fire and Phil Collins- and produced a whole new direction and a whole new face as a 10 piece band adding R&B, Blues, and Funk to the mix with selections from Earth Wind and Fire, Chicago, BB King, Genesis, Temptations, and Steely Dan- to name a few- as well as their own music.

In 1995 Andy moved to Phoenix where he formed the group Vinyl Nova with Co-writer Mark Weeter and produced House of Joy - a mix of eclectic pop. Taking a Sgt. Pepper approach the two injected many odd instruments into the recordings from a Banjo to a Flugelhorn. The album received local air play and is still selling successfully on www.cdbaby.com Andy was also a session player at Mission Control Studio through 2001

In 2002 longing to get back to his R&B / Funk roots Andy joined Groove Syndicate Playing a mix of old school Funk & R&B.

In 2003 Andy and a group of musician friends formed the Female R&B group Radiance featuring Amber Dirks -former backup vocalist for Sister Sledge-and had a successful run as house band for Jetts Americana dance club in North Scottsdale.

Andy has played guitar for the Big Band Jazz group Sonoran Serenade and was also involved in the Steely Dan Tribute project Pretzelogix. In his spare time, Andy is also recording a 10-year backlog of original material with co-writer Blair Olsen.
